He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim and Pat. He is survived by: his children, Shay K. McGowan of Wilkinsburg and Drew T. McGowan of Raleigh, N. C.; and his siblings, Karen "Tootsie" Smith (late Roland), Patrick McGowan (Emma) and Paul McGowan (Norma). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
