He was predeceased by: his wife Leona Smelko (Limbacher); his child Brigid; and his sister Margarette Kmetz (late George). He is survived by: his children, Paul E. Smelko (Tammie) of Swissvale, John J. Smelko (Jill) of Mars, PA, Gumpa of Cecelia, Madelyn and Luke.
