He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Saunders and Margaret Saunders; his siblings, Hugh Saunders, Chalie Saunders and Peggy Iavecchia; and his son-in-law Timothy Gaige.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Saunders; his children, Joseph Saunders (Gabrielle), JeanMarie Scully (Richard) and MaryBeth Gaige; his siblings, Peter Saunders, Patricia Murray and Kathleen Sheehan; and his grandchildren, John Scully, MaryKate Scully, Annabelle Gaige, Rosemarie Gaige and Declan Gaige. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
