He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Crawford and Kathryn Barnard; his granddaughter Calene Crawford; and his siblings-in-law, Geraldine Stone and Daniel Klym.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his sons, James Jr. (Kyra), Tobin (Virginia), Brian (Nicole) and Chad (Shannon); his grandchildren, Erin (Nick), Kevin, Dylan, Gavin, Bradley and Miles; his great grandchildren, Owen, Logan, Fletcher, Hanley and Verne; his siblings, Beverly Parks (Gerry), Carole Klym, Roger and Ron Crawford (Sue); and his parents-in-law, Duane Barton (Larene), Ron Stone and Patricia Wayman (Robert).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lanesboro Cemetery Association.
