He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl S. Filson, Sr. and Ruth E. Filson (Forney); and his siblings, Nancy Hoover, Richard "Dick" Filson and John Filson.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen L. Filson; his daughters, Gail L. Stivale (Paul) and Karen E. Zimmerman (Randy); his grandchildren, Paolo Stivale, Jared Zimmerman (Heather), Anthony Stivale and Chloe Zimmerman; his great grandchildren, Colton and Henley; and his sister Ruth Ann Piper.
