He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Thomas and Dorothy Elizabeth Holmes McLain; his son Gary; and his sister Dorothy McLain Freeman. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Mary Townsend; his daughters, Denise Young (Frank), Linda Michel (John) and Brenda; his grandchildren, Angela, Heather, Tegan, John and Meredith; his great grandchildren, Zachary, Xander, Zoie, Dragan, Chandler, Lily, Gavin and Stryker; and his niece Donna.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the sender's favorite charity.
