He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Adam "Chalkie" Bennek and May Bennek (Campbell); his girlfriend Ruby Verdinsky of Summit Hill; his brother James Bennek (Sarajane) of Summit Hill; his grandsons, Cory DeRoach and Aaron DeRoach; his great grandchildren, Cameron, Carly and Colby; his nieces, Michelle and Lisa; and his nephew James.

Contributions, in his memory, may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis , TN 38105.
