He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Smith Pierce; and his siblings, Tom, Ron Pierce, Wilma and Joyce.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Chitester; his children, Billy Joe, Bobby Joe, William H. III, Ronald Pierce, Bonnie Fisher and Becky Stetson; and his siblings, Joe Pierce and Julie Pierce. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
