She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gae H. Bahng and Jung R. Bahng; her husband Hanyu Joo; her son Sangyong; and her grandchildren, Hannie Sunew, Julie Yoo, Chris Cho (Kilho), Catherine Lee, Jennifer Yoon, John, Peter, Dave, Cathy, Walter, Janet, Bobby, Michael, Jenny, Chrissy, Philip and Jonathan. She was also cherished by 16 great-grandchildren.
