He was predeceased by: his parents, William Shaffer and Bertha Ellen Shaffer; and his siblings, Helen Polgrean, Thelma Frantom, Harold, Raymond, Gerald, Marvin, Merle, Ken and Donald.
He is survived by: his children, Gale Shaffer and Richard (Billie) of Sugarloaf; his grandson Christopher Shaffer of Sugarloaf; and his brother-in-law Ray Frantom. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
