He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Vandegrift and Margaret Vandegrift (Dolan); his wife Emma A. "Dolly" Vandegrift (Wholahan); and his siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Franklin, Joseph, Norman, Robert, Harry and William.
He is survived by: his children, Edward Joseph Vandegrift (Laurie) of Upland, PA and Carol A. Bernard (Walter) of Central; his grandsons, Walter, Jonathon, Brian and Edward; his great grandchildren, Walter, Breighanna, Brian, Raeann, Chase and Gavin; and his great great grandchild Walter.
