He was predeceased by: his father Calvin Penley; his wife Linda Lou Penley; and his son Lee R. Penley. He is survived by: his sons, James R. Penley Jr. (Debra) of Sugar Grove, Erik R. Penley of Sugar Grove, Steven E. Penley (Dena) of Warren and Adam Penley (Brook) of Russell; his siblings, Linda Pompillo (Jim) of Lander, Karen Briggs (Curt) of Russell, Jerry Penley of Florida and Bud Penley of West Virginia; and his grandchildren, Amber, Caleb, Rebecca, Logan Penley, Haden Morse, RJ Rodgers, Paige, Carter Penley, Mikenzie and Shawn Miller. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
