He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Himes and Sarah Himes; and his son Larry Himes. He is survived by: his daughters, Sherry Lawson (Doug) of Sugar Grove, PA, Julie Haser of Warren and Judy Hollabaugh (Joe) of Viola, AR; his daughter-in-law Susan Himes of Warren; his grandchildren, Sarah Boger (Luke), Douglas Lawson Jr., Kate Borland (Jake), Matthew Himes (Julie), Curtis Himes (Allison), Leslie Fleming (Jim), Tyson Himes (Charlotte) and Hannah Streich (Chris); his sister Fern Hiller of Frewsburg, NY; and his nephew Fred Himes (Rita). He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
