She was predeceased by: her husband Gerald D. Staples Sr.; her parents, Halsey Melvin and Hazel Melvin (Casebere); her son Gerald D. Staples Jr.; her son-in-law Edwin VanLoan Tingley Jr.; her grandchildren, Edwin III, Jordan, Drew, Alexandra, Brianne, Jacquelyn, Jessica and Gerald III; her great grandchildren, Katherine, Rebekah, John, Emily, Donato, Atticus and Archer; and her siblings, Delores Detrick, Margaret Smith and Halsey Melvin Jr..
She is survived by: her daughters, Debra Staples Tingley (Leslie C. Shultz Jr.) of Bellfonte and Julie A. Roksandic (John) of Elizabethtown; and her siblings, Edward Melvin (Yvonne Smith), Gloria Jean Warner of East Stroudsburg and Patricia Meno of East Stroudsburg.
