He was predeceased by: his parents, Halsey M. Melvin and Hazel Melvin (Casebeer). He is survived by: his children, Christine Houck of Allentown and Daniel Melvin of Stroudsburg; his grandchildren, Carolyn, Jason and Matthew Houck; his great grandchild Leovel; his siblings, Edward Melvin (Yvonne Smith), Shirley Staples, Jean Warner and Patricia Meno; and his wife Veronica Melvin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
