Samuel V. Messina Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Samuel V. Messina of Strabane, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 19, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his siblings, Jennie Messina, Mary Messina, Isabel Simon, Louis Messina, Jack Messina, Dominick Messina and Joseph Messina; and his parents, Samuel Messina and Josephine Messina (Marra).
He is survived by : his spouse LaVerne Messina (Zambella); his children, Mary Margot Ramsay (Timothy) of Ellicott City, MD, Melissa Anne Kerr (Bradley) of Peters Township, Melinda Anne Messina, Laressa Comfort (Ernie), Corey Buswell, Jacob Kerr, Hayley Kerr and Mia Ramsay; his great grandchild Lennon Comfort; his niece Peggy Ann Ambrose (David) of Washington, PA; his nephew Dr. William S. Messina of Tucson, AZ; and his goddaughter Toni Marie Vallone.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 5th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church - St. Oscar (300 Pike St, Meadowlands, PA 15347).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the following: The Wounded Warrior Project; Miraculous Medal Food Bank (check made out to "Holy Name Society," memo: "Food Bank, in memory of Sam Messina"); or any animal rescue of your choice.
