He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary James and Mildred Elizabeth Shaffer (Engle). He is survived by: his wife Jocelyn Philip; his children, Gary James III (Erica), Wesley, Brandon (Lemma) and Desiree Shaffer; his grandchildren, Gary Roman IV, Sylvia, Pearce, Duke, Ollie and True Shaffer; and his sisters, Connie Szapka (Ted), Judy Krause (John), Tracey Luther (Tim) and Joan Stanley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Deaner Funeral Home (133 E Main St, Stoystown, PA 15563). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
