He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond J. Murgatroyd, Sr. and Dorothy MacPherson (Lee); his wife Cynthia L. Murgatroyd (Wintersteen) of Stillwater; his daughter Courtney Kelley (Cole); his grandson Easton Kelley; his father-in-law Donald Wintersteen; his half-sister Nancy Santoski; his aunt Linda Chichilitti; and his uncle John Murgatroyd.
