He is survived by: his wife Selma Schmidt (Schneider); his children, Cindy Schmidt McCartin (Charles) and Michael Schmidt (Agnetha); his grandchildren, Jennifer Burns (Benjamin), Steve Schmidt Austin Schmidt (Danielle), Brody Schmidt, Saga Herdeskoeld and Emilia Herdeskoeld; his great grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Waylon Schmidt; his brother Edward Schmidt (Patricia); and his sister-in-law Pidge Schmidt.
