He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Heaton and Hazel E. Heaton (Waltemyer); and his siblings, William, Franklin and Angelene Arnold.

He is survived by: his children, Tiena McLaughlin (Michael) and Brandy Shaffer; his grandson Nicholas L. Hafycz (Tara); his great grandchildren, Darian, Keela, Gerard and Joy; and his sisters, Cinda Hayden and Almeda Keithley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Manford's memory to the local SPCA for the care of their cats.
