He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Mitzel and Marie Mitzel (Mundis); his wife Glenda Mitzel; his daughter Sara Mitzel Hilbert; his grandson Garrison Everhart; and his brother Duane Mitzel.

He is survived by: his close friend Louise Fulton; his daughter Lisa Brazzon (Patrick); his grandson Jesse Everhart (Krystie); and his great grandchild Linden Everhart. He is also survived by niece and two nephews.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
