He was predeceased by: his mother Pearl I. Clemens McFarland; his sister Elsie Harper; his daughter Pamela; and his close friend Margaret George. He is survived by: his children, Sharon and John Jr. of New Carrollton, MD; his niece Jocelyn I Harper (David) of Harrisburg; and his great-nephew Myles A Hardy (Caitlyn) of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.
