He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Benkovic and Barbara Tomasic Benkovic; his children, George M. Benkovic, Jr. and Julie Ann Laughlin; his granddaughter Lisa Laughlin; and his siblings, Helen, Anna, Mary Benkovic, Barbara Long, Elizabeth Day, Catherine Simpson and John W. Benkovic.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Smey Benkovic; his son Robert S. Benkovic, Sr. (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Jennifer Monahan (Tim), Robert S Benkovic, Jr. (Sarah), Joseph Benkovic, Ryan, Kelly and Kevin Laughlin; his great grandchildren, Margaret, Michael Monahan, William, Anna, Jonathan and Ryan Benkovic; his children-in-law, Gary Laughlin and Cheryl Benkovic; and his stepgrandsons, Joshua Laughlin and Dale Railing.
