The memory of Florence E. Bates of State Line, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 3, 2025 at the age of 88, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fordy Bates and Esther Elizabeth Martin Bates; and her siblings, William Bates, Robert Bates, Ann Strite, Juanita Strite and Ben Bates.
She is survived by: her siblings, Nancy LaBlanc, Shirley Mariotti of Hagerstown, Douglas Bates (Priscilla) of Chambersburg, Henry Bates (Madonna) and Betty Eby (Eldon) of Shirleysburg, PA. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Reiff Mennonite Church (17433 Reiff Church Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21740).
