He was predeceased by: his son Roy M. Barnes; and his wife Dr. Mary W. Barnes. He is survived by: his daughter Catherine Barnes (Nathan Engle) of Bloomington, Indiana; his daughter-in-law Susan Barnes; and his granddaughters, Lindsey Barnes and Lacey Barnes Arrington (William Arrington). He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
