He was predeceased by: his mother Laura Flegal Barnett. He is survived by: his father Gary Barnett; his wife Lisa Branstetter; his children, Casey Barnett, Jamey Cunningham of Big Sky and Miranda Goodson (Mark) of College Park, Maryland; his sisters, Kathy Reese (Rich) of Lewisberry, Julie Milsom (Jay) of Philipsburg and Krista Campomizzi (Rick) of Camp Hill; and his grandchildren, Everett, Amelia, Eliza Goodson and Barker Barnett. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Kip was a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
