Mari K Eder wrote a sympathy message

“I am so very sorry to learn of Betty's passing. I was grateful to get to know her a little, through talking with her about my book, The Girls Who Stepped Out of Line. It was a privilege to get to know her and learn abut her service in WWII, her devotion to her country and her family. Rest in peace and glory, Betty. Mari K. Eder”
