He was predeceased by: his wife Betsy Goodwin; his parents, John J. "Joe" Goodwin and Mary Ellen Goodwin; and his brothers, John "Jack" Goodwin, Robert Goodwin, Donald Goodwin, Michael Goodwin and William Goodwin.
He is survived by: his children, Richard P. Goodwin, Jr. (Dawn), Michele Holden, Colette Goodwin and Eric Goodwin; his grandchildren, Stefanie Goodwin (Marco Klampfl), Richard E. Goodwin, James Holden and Betsey Goodwin; his sisters, Joanne Dick, Terry Shields (Edward) and Mary Lou Higgins; and his close friend Lois O'Donnell. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
