He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward O. Brookes and Lillian M. Brookes; and his siblings, Jimmy, Rowan (Dolores), Daniel Brookes and Lois Haynie (Bob).
He is survived by: his wife Lynne E. Brookes; his children, Heather Edelman (Mark), Robin Brookes and Scott Brookes (Casey); his grandchildren, Ashley and Nathan Edelman; and his siblings-in-law, Mimsie Brookes and Warner "Chip" Haelle (Margie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
