He was predeceased by: his brother Thomas (Mary Lou); his daughter Kimberly DePiano-Powell; and his grandson Luke DePiano. He is survived by: his children, Leonard J. III (Chrissy), Karen Powell and Kristina DeSantis (Ken); his grandchildren, Joey, Brittney, Eric, Annamarie, Ethan, LJ, Kenneth, Alana, Bella, Ambrianna, Christian, Averie and Blaise; and his sister Maria Baczkowski.
