He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Kerns and Mary Kerns (Gildea). He is survived by: his wife Linda Kerns (Sweeney); his siblings, Marybeth Kerns, Trish Opio, Herbert Kerns, Robert Kerns and Michael Kerns; his stepdaughter Jennifer Hertizler; and his grandchildren, Aidan and Jacob.
Interment will be private. Due to the current circumstances face masks and social distancing is required in the church.
