He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Boardman and Dorothy Stewart Boardman; his sons, Marcus Boardman, Stephen, John and Richard Gallagher; and his sister Carolyn Osborne.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; and his sons, Paul (Lisa) and Billy Boardman (Brittany). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
