He was predeceased by: his spouse Arabella Messersmith (Runk); and his parents, Clarence Messersmith and Edna Messersmith (Mummert). He is survived by: his children, Bessie, Lola, James, Stephen and Grayling. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
