He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Sterner and Renee Sterner (Myers); and his sisters, Betty Shaffer, Mildred Bricker, Louise Lentz and Nancy Sterner.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia M. Sterner (Shearer); his children, Todd Sterner (Renee), Douglas Sterner (Kim), Darryl Sterner (Elizabeth), Scott Sterner and Victoria Bortner (Travis); and his brother David Sterner (Arlene). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
