He was predeceased by: his father Alfred "Jack" Myer; and his children, Thunder, Bear, Jr. and Elvis. He is survived by: his mother Margaret Mary Mischler Feil; his daughter Jacqueline Myer (John Westhead); his siblings, Tom Feil (Renee Lee) and Teresa Feil Campama; his stepson Maurice Kelley; and his stepgrandchild Brooke Kelley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association.
