It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Francis Bender of Spring Church, Pennsylvania, born in Grantsville, Maryland, who passed away on December 18, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bender and Mabel Bender (Custer); and his brothers, Richard, Thomas, William and Charles Bender.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta K. "Dolly" Bender (Yoder) of Spring Church; his children, Charles M. "Mike" Bender (Marie) of Mercer Island, WA, Pamela A. Woynicz (Mark) of Apollo, PA, Kathryn M. Sodowsky (Wayne) of Apollo, PA and Joseph E. Bender (Van) of Milwaukie, OR; his grandchildren, Ruth Bender (Jacob Iellimo), Tim, Doug Bender, Madi, Joe, Tom, Anna Sodowsky, Kieran and Chris Woynicz; his great grandchild Juliet Iellimo; and his sister Ann Corderman of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
