He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Milford "Buddy" Byler and Lorene Byler (Yoder); his wife Valerie L. (Swanson); his children, Adrian (Marc Moles) and Warren (Emily); his grandchildren, Logan, Grayson and Charlotte; and his brothers, James (JoAnn) of Idaho, David (Ruth) and Ronald (Cheryl). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
