He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Akam and Mildred Akam (Lindstrom); his wife Carol Jean Akam (Morris); his son Thomas Akam; and his sister Kathleen Dahl.
He is survived by: his son Gary Akam (Leslie) of Corry, PA; his sister Sandra Marrs of Columbus, PA; his siblings-in-law, Donna Kashuba (Greg) of Florida and Fred Morris (Linda) of Erie, PA.; his grandchildren, Tyler Akam (Jessica) and Lindsey Akam; and his great grandchildren, Sophia and Simon Akam. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
