She was predeceased by: her mother Bessie Rufe. She is survived by: her husband John F. Sharkey; her children, David Sharkey (Lisa), Deborah Kane (Michael) and Leigh Sharkey; her grandchildren, Lauren, Brittany, Amber, Devin and Erin; and her great grandchildren, Mia Rose, Cameron and Carson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Sandy's honor to the American Cancer Society, cancer.org/donate.
