He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis J. Smith, Sr. and Margaret M. Smith. He is survived by: his siblings, Thomas J. Tait, Carol Anne Pasquarello, Francis J. and Jeffrey Smith; his nieces and nephews, Linda, Adam, Brianne, Owen and Ryan; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lelah, Jacob and Jayden; and his aunts and uncles, Mickey, Bettyanne Dadario, Joe and Kathy Smith. He is also survived by many cousins and extended family.
