She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Awckland and Mary Margaret Awckland (Cronin); her husband F. Richard Mengel Sr. (Dick); and her son F. Richard Mengel, Jr. (Rick). She is survived by: her children, Carol Smith (Frank), Marie MacKenzie, Meg Sokorai (Mike) and James "Jamie" Mengel; her siblings, Margaret Bowman, Doris Hartigan and Herbert Awckland (Buzz); her grandchildren, Erin M., Patrick X. Smith, Kristin M., Kaitlin M., Shannon A. MacKenzie, Victoria (Tori) and James Mengel; and her daughter-in-law Maryann Alligood.
