He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Schwaiger and Nikolaus Schwaiger. He is survived by: his sister Elvia Coster; his stepdaughter Deborah Mayo (Walt); his grandsons, Tom Mayo, Dan Mayo (Emilie) and Matthew Mayo (Kristen); his great grandchild Dean Mayo; his nephew Eric Coster; and his niece Heather Haroldsen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vereinigung Erzgebirge German Club.
