Marlin Corn wrote a sympathy message

“I am deeply saddened to hear of George's passing. It's hard to think of anyone with a heart as golden as his, and he was instantly a friend of anyone he met. His dedication to the Churchville Nature Center enriched all connected to it, and the facility is replete with his loving and exceptional craftsmanship. Whether sharing countless hiking, backpacking and canoeing trips, or just the day to day operations at CNC, there was no one better to pass time with. George, thank you for being you.”

Sharon Furlong wrote a sympathy message

“I just now learned of dear George’s passing….. What a wonderful man! He was one of the kindest, sweetest, most genuine human beings I have ever had the honor of meeting. As a longtime volunteer from the 1980’s, I had many occasions of working with or alongside George. It was always a treat to be in the presence of someone who exhibited such graciousness and patience while working with a novice. I also birded with him, and spent time in conversations about him and his family. One of the best…..”

Rob Margiotta wrote a sympathy message

“My condolences go out to George's family. I first met George in the fall of 2017 at the Churchville Nature Center when I started volunteering as part of the grounds crew. He was a mentor to me and showed me the finer points of woodworking along with how to do things the right way. I'll always have fond memories of working with him in George's Lair.”
