With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James L. Bates of South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 30, 2023 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles R. Bates Sr. and Frances J. Bates (Raudabaugh); and his brother Charles R. Bates Jr.. He is survived by: his children, James Bates Jr., Jennifer Palmeter (Brad), Susan Dunn (Keith) and Michael Bates; his brother Timothy J. Bates (Cindy) of Laurens; and his close friends, Dean C. Fulger (Pamela) of Lock Haven and Doris "Mammy G" Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to the Lycoming County SPCA 2805 Reach Road Williamsport, PA 17701.
