It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elizabeth A. Mapes of South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, born in Saint Marys, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Othmar Distler and Regina Distler (Hassenetter); and her sisters, Mary Heindl and Jane Mack. She is survived by: her children, Christine E. Barto (Kody) of Las Vegas and Matthew A. Mapes (Bridget) of Moscow, PA; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Loraditch (Andrew), Hunter, Kayla Barto, Braeden, Kellen and Mary Mapes; and her brother David Distler (Connie) of Dubois. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM and at 9:45 AM at the St. Joseph the Worker Parish (702 W 4th St, Williamsport, PA 17701). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
