He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard H. Smith and Iva Celestine Smith (Young). He is survived by: his wife Reverend Teresa L. Bennett-Smith; his children, Steven A. Smith, Benjamin B. McGinty-Smith (George) and Wendy M. Smith (Kevin); his grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael), Kaydan, Haley and Brock; his great grandchild Jahseh; his brother Richard L. Smith; and his parents-in-law, Willis and Marilyn Bennett. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

“Where do you start with a guy like Perry? I wondered if I should wear 2 different kinds of socks to his Memorial Service. I have something in the fridge right now that he gave me- Mesquite flavored beef jerky! And I have something downstairs probably that no one else has- a burn mark on the wall from when he was helping me install a water heater. I join with countless others in saying he will be greatly missed. See ya later, Perry!”
