We are sad to announce that on January 23, 2024, at the age of 77, Robert L. Furman of South Park, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Furman and Mary Catherine Furman of Clarksville. He is survived by: his wife Rosalie Furman (Battaglia); his son L. Robert (Lynn); his daughter-in-law Tiffeni (Patrick); his grandsons, R. Lucas and Kyle; and his sister Rebecca Kuhns (Bert). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved extended family.

“I am sorry that I had not heard that Bob passed away until recently. As an educator, he inspired me to become an advocate for young adolescents. I completed my doctoral work in middle level education and hopefully I inspired preservice and in-service teachers to love middle schoolers as he did. I don't think there are words to describe the powerful influence he had on me and our profession, and me personally. Kathleen Benson, Ph.D.”
