He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry N. May and Eva M. Bittner; his siblings, Gerry May and Sandy May; and his nephew Johnny.

He is survived by: his children, Melissa Harris (Thomas) of Shamokin, PA and Fred May of Massillon, OH; and his brother Larry Claar. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 10+ great-grandchildren.
