He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Knisel and Julia Knisel (Saylor); his daughter Mary Jean; and his siblings, Dorothy Pearl, Rosellia Knisel and Edward Knisel.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Knisel (Werfel); his children, Joseph M, Mary Ann (Elwood Adams), Rose Marie Penatzer, Ronald A. Knisel, Karen Louise (Timothy Beyer) and Rita Mae (Frank Peixoto); and his brother William (Doris). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
