He was predeceased by: his parents, William Russell and Mabel Russell (Gramling); his wife Marion Ruth Russell (Roberts); his sister Elaine Miller; and his brother-in-law Samuel Miller.

He is survived by: his sons, Rick (Julia), Mount Hope, Joel (Sherry), Allen (Linda) and Stephen (Fanlin); and his sisters, Donna Jean (Gary Lester) and Karen (Ramon Neri). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
